EMOS market definition
“EMOSs are modular solutions, targeted at energy-intensive commercial and industrial (C&I) customers that can be configured by energy services solution providers to optimize energy against the customers’ productivity objectives. A foundational platform provides core functionality on which complementary products or services, such as emissions management and energy procurement management, can be layered. An EMOS proactively manages customers’ flexible loads and optimizes the energy profile by interacting with automation systems. It consumes data from meters and sensors and potentially communicates with a utility, grid operator or market to orchestrate operational use cases.“
